A brief synopsis of some of the things I found a worthwhile read last month
Apologies for starting on a negative BUT this one made me think – because it’s bland, shows no real understanding of the challenges created by the incident and what practical responses could be available. CrowdStrike shows a new scenario – “what happens if our networks and servers are all operational, but all endpoints are compromised?" - this article completely ignores that challenge. Unfortunately, this type of “advice” undermines the credibility of business continuity – trotting out the same old mantras and quick fixes.
This one from the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), gave an interesting perspective on using technology to assist with cutting through the uncertainties during a major incident.
Seems like a big figure and looking at some of the players, some potentially big price tags too. Is this really a big market, is it over supplied, how to measure the benefits of deploying and managing these apps?
An interesting and topical take on the implications of civil unrest for insurance coverage and incident response
This gives some good insight into some specific employer liability considerations when preparing incident management and business continuity plans for civil unrest situations.
